Croton Falls Fire District and the Board of Fire Commissioners
Overview
Established in 1939 with the approval of the New York State Comptroller, the Croton Falls Fire District serves as a dedicated political subdivision within the State of New York. The District is managed by an elected Board of Fire Commissioners, supported by a treasurer, secretaries, a facilities manager, and an apparatus engineer. Together, they oversee the District’s operations, finances, infrastructure, and emergency services.
The Board of Fire Commissioners holds the authority to levy taxes on property owners within the District. These funds ensure the availability and effectiveness of fire protection services for residents and businesses in the community.
